It's Atticus Finch again,
I am sad to say, that although alot of you have been on Tom Robinson's side throughout this ordeal. Tom Robinson died this morning. The day after the trial, I awoke to find Calpurnia telling me and showing me what the coloured folks did. they left us enough food to bury the family. I told Calpurnia to tell them thank you, and that I'm very grateful, but also to tell them not to do it again, times are too hard to have been giving like that. Jem was saying that no one did anything to help Tom Robinson but Ms. Maudie told him that Tom's coloured friends had done everything that they could. Judge Taylor had picked me to defend Tom, because he knew I was the best for the case. When the trial was over and done with, Bob Ewell stopped me at the post office, spat in my face, and told me he would get me if it took the rest of his life. It seemed that everyone had something to say to me, Miss. Stephanie asked if I was "to proud to fight" and other words upon that, my reply was "no, too old". Jem asked me again later bout Tom. And I told him he had a good chance of going free. Jem had asked about his appeal, I told him if he loses he'll go to the chair. It's unbelievable what some people to with rage, they have to hurt other people. You already know what Bob Ewell did to my two children, and to the Maycomb people it's just so shameful. I will say one thing though, if I ever in my life again see a man like Tom I'll defend him better, so that a man doesn't do what tom did.
With that I will not be going to write no more for those of you that have followed Tom's case. I hope that you understand, how serious and unfair this was to Tom ( http://www.hrea.org/index.php?doc_id=973 ), he was a good man, good worker, and a good father and husband. Bob Ewell just didn't want to make himself look bad.

During Tom Robinson's Case
Hello again blogger's I'm back Atticus Finch
Last night I was watching Tom Robinson's cell to make sure nothing went on. Call it a feeling, but my feeling was right. I sat outside the jail knowing people where coming, when the men showed up i finally got them to go on home. On the day of Tom Robinson's trial there was alot of talk going on about how people didn't like what i was doing. I took this case because I had to, so I'd defend this man the way I would any-other man. the trial went on and Mr. Tate was on the stand, now I had a feel'n that Mr. Robinson wasn't the one to blame, so I questioned everyone as detailed as I could. When Bob Ewell was on the stand I questioned him what had went on that night. The markings on Mayella were from a left-handed man and Tom Robinson couldn't do nothing with his left hand. I had Bob Ewell just as I needed him. I called Mayella to the stand, I questioned her about what really happened and she didn't crack and didn't tell it all truthfully. I called Tom up he told us everything from start to finish, and then everyone had a pretty good sense that Tom didn't do it if he could not use his left hand. Mr. Gilmer was questioning Tom trying to make him say he did it, but Tom kept telling him that he didn't do it. all that came out of Tom Robinson's case was that the white inhabitants of Maycomb refused to believe a man because he was coloured (http://library.thinkquest.org/12111/SG/SG5.html ) . In the end the jury had found Tom Robinson guilty as charged.

Before Tom's Case
Hello fellow bloggers, my name is Atticus Finch.
I live in Maycomb ( http://www.enotes.com/to-kill-a-mockingbird/class-system-maycomb-county ) with my two children Jem and Scout Finch, but enough about me let me tell you about my case on Mr. Tom Robinson.
Before my case on Tom Robinson, went to trial there was alot of bad talk about me. By defending a coloured man the people in Maycomb had thought i had lost my mind. I took the case because everyone in their life has one "case" that effects them and the Tom Robinson case was mine. Being a good lawyer and a father is not always an easy thing to do but i get along, my two children come first and with this case they heard alot of talk. My daughter, Scout came to me one day cry'n because of something Mrs. Dubose had said about me, i told her that she and Jem would be hearing alot of nasty talk bout her daddy because he's doing something most people won't, but it didn't mean I'm not the same Atticus. I had heard a few days ago from Jack that Scout and Francis got in a bit of a tiff over something that was said about me. Jack filled me in that Francis said i was a "nigger lover". I want Scout to see people will say things when they are mad or don't understand why someone does something, so they don't know what to say. this will all clear up soon.
